Pentiment: 16th-Century Narrative Adventure
Pentiment is a narrative adventure set in Upper Bavaria during the 16th century, where players follow the journey of Andreas Maler, a journeyman artist working in the historic scriptorium of Kiersau Abbey amidst social turmoil. As Andreas nears completion of his masterpiece, he finds himself unwittingly drawn into a web of murders spanning 25 years.
Players are tasked with investigating and interrogating a diverse cast of characters including peasants, thieves, craftsmen, monks, nuns, nobles, and even saints to uncover the truth behind the mysterious murders.
